Our Twin Gender Reveal (for our second set of twins)

on February 4, 2015 by Jami Balmet 22 comments

It feels like just yesterday that we were revealing the genders of our first set of twins (two boys). And now it’s time to reveal the genders of our second set of twins (YES – we are pregnant with twins for the second time in a row)!!

Twin Gender Reveal

Our new babies are due in July 2015 (but our first set of twins came 3 weeks early so anytime in June or July is fair game)! Our toddler twin boys will be two and a half on June 26th…and so that means we will haveΒ 4 children that are 2.5 years and younger!!

It’s going to be a little nuts (and really loud) but we are so thankful and excited for this new journey! Having our twin boys has been the greatest journey and we know that God has a perfect plan for our family. We are so thankful for his Grace and His plan in our life.

A Note:Β Only because we have been asked this over and over – yes, both sets of our twins are “natural”. We have not had any fertility treatment or anything. We just conceived twins…twice πŸ™‚ My doctor called me a “twin-maker”! And yes – twins do run in our family. It’s genetic. (Obviously I don’t think there is anything wrong with fertility treatments or that twins conceived that way are any less “natural”. Β That’s just the language people have used with us and I know people are just naturally curious when they hear about two sets of twins back to back).

So without further ado….

It’s Twin Boys….AGAIN!

Coming July 2015 we will have four little boys under 2.5 years old! Our house is going to be loud, stinky, and full of so much fun! I’m a little worried about feeding them all when they reach their teenage years but we will cross that bridge when we get to it. Praise the Lord for his goodness. We can’t wait to meet our new sons. We will reveal their names soon. Any suggestions?

So I have just one final question:

Moms of boys, do you have any advice for me when it comes to raising multiple little boys?

  1. Congratulations! Your life is going to be blessed with so many little boys running around. How exciting!

I’m expecting my first in March; there’s just one in there but I often worry about how I’m going to handle such a significant change in my life. Then I see strong women like you and I’m reminded that we can get through anything if we support and encourage each other. Thanks!

    • Knowing other moms who have gone through the exact same thing is REALLY helpful!! None of my friends have twins but many of them have multiple kids and it’s so nice to get encouragement and practical advice from them. And a lot of mothering does come naturally! You will totally rock it as a Mom Monica πŸ˜€ Congrats!!

  2. Congratulations Jami! You are such an inspiration to others with your blog and I’m so thankful that you’ve continued writing through the years. God has blessed you and your husband beyond measure. I know your family will do great and wonderful things in the name of the Lord. I have no words of wisdom for you, I have 2 daughters 11 years apart so not quite the same thing lol. As far as names I love Micah, Caleb, Joseph, Elijah, to name a few!

    • Thank you Courtney! That means so much πŸ™‚ We are excited to embark on this next journey as a family πŸ™‚

Our twins name now are Malachi and Micah so if course I agree on Micah! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the suggestions!

  3. CONGRATULATIONS!! I always wanted to have twins… We were blessed with singles!
Name suggestions: Noah and Nehemiah, or Elijah and Ezra

    Soooo exciting!!!!

  4. Hello Jami, First I want to start off by saying congrats on your boys!! I am a mother of 3 boys (7, 5, and 1). My husband and I sure do have our hands full! If I could give you any advice as a mother of boys it would be to stock your cabinets!! It is amazing how much little boys can put away, even at their young ages. Also, stock up on blue jeans. Now that our 7 year old son is in second grade I can’t believe how many pairs of jeans he has gone through, due to growth spurts or the knees completely wearing out! Goodwill thrift stores have become a favorite of mine. πŸ™‚ Enjoy them!! They truly grow WAY too fast (as you probably already know) πŸ™‚ Thank you for your posts and your helpful words!

    • GREAT advice! At two years old I can’t believe how much these boys already eat LOL! I know it’s just going to get worse from here πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the encouragement!

  5. All I can say is God bless you and your husband. Twins run in my family as well (my hubby’s dad has twin siblings, my dad had twin siblings, I have twin brothers, and I have twin nephews…all “natural”). We do not have twins but thought for sure it would happen. I do, however, have three little boys who are 6 and under. The only advice I can give you is to go with the flow. Boys have tons of energy so let them burn it off outside as much as possible. When everyone else is asleep (if that ever happens…haha) you go to sleep too. I will keep you in my prayers. I am so excited for you!! Children are an heritage of the Lord.

    • Thank you for the advice and encouragement Kristy!! πŸ™‚ At two years old I’ve already been learning that valuable lesson of let them get outside and RUN as much as possible (preferably before nap time)!! I’ll have to keep it in mind as they all grow up!

  6. Congratulations Jami and Jason! Your house is going to be so full! You have really been such an encouragement to me in the past year. . . I have no advice to give (being childless for now), other than to keep loving the Lord, your husband, and your boys with all your heart. And don’t forget to take time for yourself every day. You deserve it!

  7. How exciting you are having another set of twins!! I have boy/girl twins who are 3 & they adore their big brother who is 5! They all three love each other so much & are very close & your boys will be the same!! My twins are also naturally conceived & I often wonder how many people may think we did fertility treatments. We were shocked to find out twins! My 13 week ultrasound did not show twins but I did have someone say it looked like two heads. I am type 1 diabetic & have been since age 6 & had to go for a higher level ultrasound at 16 weeks & we found out twins on that day!! I love being a Mother & love the fact I have twins! My grandmother’s grandfather was a twin but that was a huge generation gap. I think it would be fun to have another set but all three of our children were surprises & my husband would be blown away if it happened again though I know the possibility is higher. Anyways, just wanted to give a big congratulations to you from one twin mom to another!!

  8. Congratulations on your newest set twins! God sure has blessed you will lots of love and sweet babies! You have such a nice blog! I new to blogging, so I’m enjoying reading ours and learning as I go.

  9. You are so blessed to be having another set of twin boys. Boys are so much fun. I have 4 boys and 1 girl aged 6 and under and will be having my 5th boy in 2/12 months or so. The most important advice I can give you is to learn what is really important to you and let the little things go. I was raised with all girls, so my upbringing was quite different. With that many boys it will likely be loud much of the time and they will want to run around and play fight frequently. Learn how to make space for this, whatever that looks like for you. Stock up on clothes at consignment sales or thrift shops or if you have someone who can give you hand-me-downs take them! Prepare for an ever growing grocery budget. Even as young as mine are they eat a lot! Communicate frequently with your husband to know how to talk to your boys. It’s so helpful having him to teach me how to relate to little boys. Let them be individuals, as they are all unique boys made in God’s image. Most of all pray a lot and read the Bible to them frequently and talk to them daily about Jesus. May God bless you as you raise your 4 boys. I’m right there with you.

  10. While I do not have children, I did work at a preschool for four summers and got to interact with triplet boys as well as many other boys in the 3-5 age range. Make sure to give them plenty of opportunities to go outside or go to your local recreation center, or they might try burning off energy in dangerous ways. Congrats again, though!
