Our favorite board and video games to play together with Jason – Hf #181

on December 8, 2018 by Jami Balmet 7 comments

Over the course of our marriage, we’ve noticed one very important thing about staying best friends: we love to laugh and play together! The busyness of life can choke out those good intentions though, so today we are chatting about our favorite games together and hopefully giving you a little dose of encouragement to laugh and play with your spouse this week!

  1. I play board game regularly with my partner and i must confess the effect on our relationship has been tremendous. I think we will surely add video games.Thank you great piece of information.

  2. This was a great episode. Along the lines of Nertz Check our Dutch Blitz it’s our fave! And it has an expansion pack so we’ve played with large groups and it just gets more fun. But still fun with 2 people.

Right now we are also really into battle of Sheep, and kingdomino. Also if you like Catan and want to play two player get Catan jr. we got it for our kids and I personally don’t find it that much easier, still super fun and you can play 2 player.

Other card games we love and play with friends and ourselves is guaiateen and sleeping queens.

  3. We’re Minecraft nerds. All six of us have an account and we like to go on our server and start “fresh” in a new location. Someone has to get food for the family, someone had to build a house, someone collects wood, someone has to mine so we have coal to see at night, etc. My husband and I have been known to go on together when the kids are in bed as well. I’m telling you, seeing your “husband” in shining armor on top of his horse slaying the creepers on your behalf feels very heroic. LOL! he and our teens usually end up building some huge red stone tool that automates things. Thanks for all the great ideas!

  4. My husband and I LOVE playing long complicated board games with each other. (We’ve even done Civilization a couple times if that tells you anything 😉). Two of our very favorites that we can play in an hour or two in the evenings are Clans of Caledonia and Suburbia. They are both two player strategy games. Machi Koro is also another fun one that’s a little quicker and simpler. Not sure if it’s two player…we always have family close by that we play it with
