My Goals for This Week (Getting my home back on track) – 4/13/15

on April 13, 2015 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

Whew, what a crazy few weeks this has been! I’ve been hard at work on a really large project and missed my last couple of weekly goal updates (and as a result, my weekly goals suffered). I guess there is something to this whole accountability thing. (You can read my goals from last time here).

My weekly Goals (Personal & Business)

I’ve got a big project to share that just launched this week, some things that are changing, and a little bit about what we have been up to as a family since I last updated.

What We’ve Been Up To The Last Few Weeks

The last weekend in March, my husband and I headed off to a four day intense Christian writing conference! It was wonderful, amazing, and so tiring. Obviously I write here on my blog, but I’m also working on a book on Christian homemaking, and my husband is an aspiring fiction writer. So we had a blast working on a mutual passion of ours and taking some much needed time away before our twins are born this summer.

During the conference I got to sit down with several publishers to talk about my book, we got away to a beautiful resort in the mountains, got to visit with some amazing author friends (like Sarah Sundin, Marci Seither, and Allison Flexer – just to name a few). Oh, and I got to meet Francine Rivers. No big deal.

The last three weeks have consisted of little except the final filming, editing, and website tweaking for my new eCourse. I love that my husband has a passion for my ministry like I do – I wouldn’t be able to do it without him!!

And of course, we took some much needed down time to celebrate Easter as a family. This was our third Easter with kids and it’s so amazing to be able to start explaining Jesus and the real meaning of Easter to two little boys who are starting to understand.

Easter Morning!

This weekend we also announced the names of our twin boys due this summer: Remington and Ryder! Head over HERE to read the full post on picking the names.

Annnnd the biggest thing that we accomplished since my last weekly goals update, my brand new eCourse – A Heart for Hospitality – officially launched!!! This project has literally been in the making for over a year now and has been a big focus for the last several months. I am so proud that it’s finally done and I get to share it with all of you!

Last Week’s Personal Goals

1) Continue reading the Bible and my personal devotional book (The Christian Homemaker’s Handbook) every day and finish it this week.

2) Continue reading one chapter of Give Them Grace each night with my husband.

3) Exercise twice this week.

4) Do laundry and pack for conference and drop off the boys with my mother-in-law for the week

Last Week’s Business Goals

1) Post 4 times on the blog this week

2) Order my new business cards

3) Finalize all filming and recording for my new eCourse

4) Finalize the website and technical aspects of the new eCourse

Personal Goals for This Up Coming Week

1) Continue reading the Bible and start my new devotional book – Women Living Well. Read every day.

2) Finish listening to our audio book – Respectable Sins. (Jason, my hubby, has a long commute to work so we’ve been listening to audio books together. He listens during his commute and I find time while cooking, cleaning, or driving to listen as well. He finished this book this week so I need to finish it and then we will move on to a new book).

3) Continue reading one chapter of Give Them Grace each night with my husband.

4) Exercise twice this week.

5) Get caught up on general housework this week after our conference and the launching of our eCourse.

6) Finish painting, sealing, and setting up my new office desk.

7) Start painting the nursery

Business Goals for This Up Coming Week

1) Post 4 times on the blog this week

2) Finish the launch of my new eCourse (special sale price ends Wednesday the 15th).

3) Start researching and developing a new video series on essential oils

Free Mini-eCourse: Stress-Free Homemaking

I did one to share one more thing I did this week. I went through Erin (from The Humbled Homemaker’s) new mini eCourse on Stress-Free Homemaking. It’s a free eCourse that she put together with her friend and it’s been so helpful! I just finished it yesterday. It’s 4 quick videos (I think all of them are under 10 minutes or around that) with a 4 step system for getting your home under control – stress free!

Their system takes about 25 minutes each morning and I can already see how it’s really going to help me keep up on laundry, the kitchen, and then our house in general! I’ve already started to implament the system and can feel the freedom from it. You can sign up for the free mini-eCourse HERE. But hurry because it’s only available for a WEEK and then it’s gone!
