My Weekly Goals (Plus, a sneak peek at what I’ve been working on for months)

on March 16, 2015 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

This past week my sons finally got to the tail end of their nasty colds they’ve been fighting just as I came down with it. It ended up turning into a sinus infection for me (ouch! I had no idea how painful those things were) and I’ve been out of it all week.

So I missed posting my weekly goals last week (and didn’t get to all of them anyway) but here’s what we were up to two weeks ago.

My weekly Goals (Personal & Business)

All in all, even with sickness going through our family, it’s been a productive and busy two weeks.

I’m now 23 weeks pregnant with our twin boys (and really trying to get as much done now as I can while I still feel good!) With my twins last time, I ended up on bed rest the last 8 weeks so the next two months are dedicated to getting our house set up and ready! I’ll share more about my goals and what I’m doing to prepare soon.

What we’ve been up to the last two weeks:

Like I said, I’m now 23 weeks and feeling big! But so thankful that our boys are growing strong and well!

23 Weeks pregnant with twin boys (round #2)

As I mentioned in my last weekly goals update, last week I was able to get away for a mini writing retreat. Just me, my laptop and a couple good books for a weekend of writing. It was so refreshing to get away, be able to clear my mind, and really get to writing and crossing some things off my to-do list. (A HUGE thank you to my husband who got to spend the weekend with our sons and had awesome daddy-toddler bonding time. It was good bonding time but I know being alone with them is hard also!)

Writing down ideas on my retreat
They had breakfast right there in the hotel. So I brought my notebook and spent some wonderful time sitting by the window, thinking, praying, and dreaming. It was lovely!
Working on my new eCourse
This was my work station on my writing retreat. Complete with snacks, coffee, tea, water, and highlighters in 6 different colors! In this picture, I was neck deep in planning out my course! Loved having this concentrated time to work.

This week on Instagram, I shared a fun sneak peek of my all new eCourse that I’ve been working on for months now! Originally this was supposed to launch in February, then was pushed back to the middle of March, and now it’s finally scheduled for the first week in April. I promise to reveal to more details VERY soon.

My new eCourse!! A Sneak peek!

We’ve been in our new house for just over a year now and we are finally starting to get settled in. This house needed a lot of TLC when we moved in so it’s been slow progress. We’ve literally had to paint every single wall, baseboard, and door, and with the busyness of every day life (and now being pregnant), it’s taken a while to get settled in. One of our big goals lately has been to get our office space all set up (I’m currently working on the kitchen table and it’s chaotic). I wanted a huge desk with a ton of storage space but we didn’t have a lot to spend on it, so we found an idea on Pinterest and hubby has been building me this gigantic desk!! All that’s left to do now is to paint it and get it set up.

Building my new desk!!

One of my goals two weeks ago was to get my new photo collage wall all set up. I got halfway there. I got the photos printed and most of the wall assembled…except I can’t find the backings to three of the frames since I spray painted them :/ So this is what it looks like for now…

After all the sickness and being busy, we slowed way down this weekend and had a really relaxing time. On Saturday we went to the park and played until almost dark. Daddy got some one-on-one time with the boys while I worked on the final edits of my book proposal. And then we went home and had some amazing homemade ice cream from literally one of my favorite cookbooks ever: Just Making Ice Cream.

Two Weeks Ago – Personal Goals

1) Continue reading the Bible and my personal devotional book (The Christian Homemaker’s Handbook) every day.

2) Continue reading one chapter of Give Them Grace each night with my husband. With all our sickness, we were not very good on this goal last week. We are going to change that this week!

3) Exercise twice this week. Nope. I’m so terrible.

4) Tidy up the house, finish laundry, and leave my husband with plenty of food for this weekend when I’m on my writing retreat.

5) Finish my photo wall collage in our living room. Well as much as I can finish it right now 😉

6) Clean out kitchen cupboards and closets and make a trip to goodwill.

7) Decide on our twin boys’ names. We are revolving around three options and having a hard time nailing it down! YES! We have decided on the names and ordered adorable custom onsies like we did with our last twins. As soon as we get these, I’ll reveal the names 😀

Two Weeks Ago – Business Goals

1) Finish all filming of the video sessions for my upcoming eCourse.

2) Publish four blog posts this week. Almost got this one.

3) Plan out my schedule for my writing retreat this weekend. I want to utilize this time as best I can.
