My Goals for This Week – Heading into May 4/30/15

on April 30, 2015 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

Can you believe it’s almost May already? This year is flying by and we are down to about 8 weeks left until we meet our twin boys. I can’t wait and yet there is still so much to be done before they arrive!

My weekly Goals (Personal & Business)

What We’ve Been Up To The Last Few Weeks

This month has been a really blog heavy month. I’m trying to get things all set up and in place so I can take a nice long maternity break when my boys are born (but don’t worry, I’m prescheduling lots of things and inviting some amazing guest writers to fill in for me during my break).

We launched my all new eCourse – A Heart for Hospitality – this month and the feedback from those of you who have gone through the course so far has been overwhelming! Thank you!!

We’ve been so busy this week that I haven’t actually taken many photos – I need to change that this next week! But because I want to always be real with you guys, I have to share what happened yesterday morning.

My boys woke up a bit early on Wednesday morning so they came and crawled in bed with Jason and I and we snuggled for a while until they became antsy. So they headed into the living room (right down the hall from the master bedroom) and we could hear them happily playing with their toys (or so we thought). They were out there for maybe 5 minutes while Jason and I got up and dressed. Well, that’s apparently all it takes for two toddlers to grab the pound of flour left on the counter from the night before and spread it all.over.the.kitchen. For reals. This is what we came out to:

Playing in the flour!

Sigh. That’s just all part of life with little kids I guess. And I wouldn’t change it for anything!!

We also tried out this amazing cookie dough ice cream sandwich recipe this week – and found a new favorite dessert! We want to tweak the recipe a bit as we are not concerned with being gluten-free, but it was really yummy!

I had some really good intentions of getting a few projects done around the house this month, but my blogging took up more time than I thought! So in May I’m hoping to get a few of these house projects wrapped up: finish the nursery, set up our new office now that Jason finished building my desk, and do freezer cooking for the new babies! I’ll keep you updated on how I do. I’m finding it harder to get things done lately with how big and uncomfortable I am.

Painting the nusery
The nursery (which used to be our office) really needed some painting. So we picked out the colors this week and are hoping to get it finished.

Also, tonight I am so excited to get to go to a real life essential oil class taught by the fabulous Kayse Pratt! Do you follow her blog? She’s amazing and I’m excited get to go hang out with her for a bit tonight and learn more about essential oils 😀 She is like an essential oil rock star – I can’t wait!

Last Week’s Personal Goals

1) Continue reading the Bible and start my new devotional book – Women Living Well. Read every day.

2) Finish listening to our audio book – Respectable Sins. (Jason, my hubby, has a long commute to work so we’ve been listening to audio books together. He listens during his commute and I find time while cooking, cleaning, or driving to listen as well. He finished this book this week so I need to finish it and then we will move on to a new book).

3) Continue reading one chapter of Give Them Grace each night with my husband.

4) Exercise twice this week.

5) Get caught up on general housework this week after our conference and the launching of our eCourse.

6) Finish painting, sealing, and setting up my new office desk.

7) Start painting the nursery

Last Week’s Business Goals

1) Post 4 times on the blog this week

2) Finish the launch of my new eCourse (special sale price ends Wednesday the 15th).

3) Start researching and developing a new video series on essential oils

Personal Goals for This Up Coming Week

1) Continue reading the Bible and my devotional book – Women Living Well. Read every day. Maybe finish my book this week and start something new?

2) Start our new audio book – Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life (Jason listens to it during his rather long commute to work and I listen to it in pieces throughout the day when I’m cooking, cleaning, driving, etc. It takes me longer to get through a book than it takes him.)

3) Continue reading one chapter of Give Them Grace each night with my husband.

4) Exercise twice this week.

5) Compile my baby freezer cooking list so I can get started with all my freezer cooking this month!

6) Finish getting our new office/craft room all set up and organized

7) Finish painting the nursery

Business Goals for This Up Coming Week

1) Post 4 times on the blog this week

2) Start our new homemaking weekly deals feature on Fridays

3) Wrap up recording my new homemaking podcast which is tentatively scheduled to launch the first week in June!! – Stay tuned for details!
