Hf #28: Memorizing God’s Word So You Can Truly Cherish Christ

on February 4, 2016 by Jami Balmet 2 comments

We kicked off this discussion in episode #25, with the talk about how important God’s Word is and some ideas for daily Bible reading plans. But we are not to just ingest God’s Word, we are to digest it, meditate on it, and let it transform our lives. Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to do this!

Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

In today’s episode we are going to cover the importance of memorizing God’s Word, how we can come to truly cherish his Word (and through that – treasure Christ himself), and some easy methods for memorizing! Listen to the episode here:

  1. Hi Jami,

Thank you so much for all the work you do on your podcasts! I am loving them so much! They are very encouraging and helpful! I would love to leave a review on iTunes, but for some reason I cant find where to do that:(
Please keep up the good work:)
    God Bless!

  2. THANKS, for talking about the discipline about memorizing Scripture . I just came across your pod-cast. MEMORIZING BIBLE VERSES SAVED MY LIFE. In 2011 I was told ”you have cancer” I was on death door and the verses and ready to go home (heaven) and praying Jesus told me what was wrong and the doctors were able to treat me.
