In 2014 I was neck deep in trying to figure out how to run and manage my home with my twin babies running around. Tragically my mother had just passed away a few months before. It was a sudden shock and terribly difficult to deal with as I was figuring out how to raise my boys.
My oldest set of twins had just turned one and for the first time in my life, I was deep in survival mode. Fighting to find joy in each day. And honestly, just trying to figure out how to get dinner on the table and then dishes cleaned up without falling apart.
I was so joyful watching my twins growing but I was still having a very difficult time trying to manage it all without losing my mind! It was at this time that one of my favorite bloggers, Crystal Paine from Money Saving Mom, published her new book. It was called Say Goodbye to Survival Mode and I just knew I had to read it.
If you’ve hung around my blog or podcast very long, you’ve undoubtably heard me mention this book. In fact, in the Summer of 2014 I hosted an online book study of the book. It was during that study that the priorities in my life really started to take shape and helped me bit by bit sort through good routines and habits to put in place within my home.
It was also through that study that my mission here on my blog became more and more clear. I realized how much I enjoyed sharing the priorities in my life, the journey I was on, and everything I was learning along the way! It’s an understatement to say that Crystal’s book has given me an incredible level of clarity in many different aspects of my life.
I have half joked before that I want to be Crystal when I grow up. It’s only a partial joke. Crystal has been incredible open and honest along her journey. I admire her and look up to her on how she runs her incredibly successful business, with transparency and integrity. Plus she reads a lot which is a huge plus in my book 😉
Since 2014, Crystal has also grown and changed. In fact, she has shared with me that she has landed back into that survival mode again since writing that book. (This made me feel better since I feel like I’m always slipping back into that survival mode again and again!)
It’s amazing and incredibly humbling to hear from the gal who literally wrote the book on survival mode as she shares how she has learned and grown even since then. Crystal and I had a chance to chat on the phone a few weeks ago for an interview for our upcoming Homemaking Ministries Online Conference and I just loved her ability to share where she has grown and what she is learning.
3 Strategies to Stop Feeling So Overwhelmed
Here’s the exciting thing – on Thursday, September 14th I am co-hosting a LIVE webinar with Crystal called 3 Strategies to Stop Feeling So Overwhelmed. She is going to be with us teaching on the topic of digging out of that survival mode.
I think the word I probably use the most in describing a difficult day is “overwhelmed”. So I am incredibly excited to hear Crystal’s lesson on this. AND we are going to be on LIVE chatting with her.
So I want to invite you to come join Crystal and myself in this live workshop. It is going to be SO fun and I personally can’t wait for the Q&A. I am already thinking of some questions we can ask her (I’ll be on to if you want to ask ME any questions)!
The best part? This is a totally FREE live workshop that Crystal and I are hosting. All you have to do is head over here to get all signed up!
The webinar is going to be live on Thursday, September 14th at 11am central (9am PST). Crystal and I will be co-hosting the live workshop and Crystal will be doing the teaching. You will get emailed a replay link to watch it if you can’t attend live. But try to listen in live if you can, it’s gonna be a blast!
