Our Twin Boy’s Name Reveal!

on April 11, 2015 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

Woah! Is this deja-vu to anyone else or is it just me? Just over two years ago in October, we were revealing the names of our first set of twin boys: Malachi & Micah. If you are new around here (or just missed it), you read that correctly: We are preparing to have our second set of twin boys this summer!

We had a much tougher time picking out names this time. We didn’t intend for our first set of twins to have the same initials but it just happened to work out that way (you can read about how that happened here). Generally my husband and I agree on names but we had a few this time around that we didn’t see eye to eye on.

Some of the names we considered: Titus & Timothy (this was my vote to keep the Biblical theme going), Killian & Kaiden, Sterling & Ryder, Jack & Liam, and a few more combinations. But there was something just not right with each combination (usually I loved one name and didn’t love the other or he was strongly set against a name, etc).

And because I’m a planner and need to get their nursery set up and done SOON, we went around and around the name wheel for weeks. But we finally settled on two names that we are both completely in love with! We love that they are both really strong male names (something that is important to both of us) and not very common (but not too out there).

Remington Steele and Ryder Sterling

We both finally fell in love with the names when we were discussing what the nick names for Remington and Ryder would be. Our hearts melted when one of our 2-year-olds repeated the nick names “Remy” and “RyRy”. That was it – it was a done deal!

Sterling is my great-grandfather’s name and one of the coolest names ever – I was rooting for this as a first name for a while 😉

We will be welcoming little Remy and RyRy this Summer (sometime around the end of June or beginning of July) and will be a family of 6!

We ordered the same onsies for my first set of twins and took their newborn photos in them. They are still some of my favorite photos we have. I can’t wait to do the same with R&R!
