Homemaker’s Christmas Gift Guide {2013 Edition}

on December 9, 2013 by Jami Balmet 0 comments

I really love hunting for the perfect Christmas presents. I spend time thinking about each of my family and friends and what will really make their faces light up when they open the gift.

My love language is gifts, I love giving people gifts of my time, energy, love, and fun presents that are exactly what that person wants.

Homemaker's Christmas Guide Guide - 2013 Editon

I’m also an online shopper. Almost all of my presents every year purchased online. Because of my two passions, I thought I would share some of my favorite presents and stores for Homemakers to hopefully give you {or your hubby} some inspiration!

All of these companies I have personally shopped from and almost every single individual product I share, I actually have, use, and love! Enjoy 🙂 And as a warning – I will be using the word “adorable” many times in this guide…because sometimes that’s the only word to use! Please note: Prices on Amazon tend to change frequently, so please double check the price before purchasing.

2013 Christmas Gift Guide

Carpentree Gifts

I only recently discovered Carpentree Christian gifts and I’m so glad that I did. I’ve already picked out a few things that I want to order and I’m sure I will find a few more! I know that I will be ordering a few of their iPhone cases and wall art – all so cute!

Daily Planner – Homemaker’s Friend

HomemakerFriendI’m starting my second year using the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner and I know other Homemaker’s would love to get this as a Christmas present! You can read my full review of the planners here.

And if you order 3 or more planners, you get free shipping! This would be a fun gift to get for all the ladies in your Bible Study group.

DaySpring

Dayspring might possibly be my favorite place to get presents for Homemaker’s who I don’t know as well {and also for my close family and friends}.

Their selection of mugs and tea cups are terrific and I know I could find many Christmas presents from this section alone! They also have a large selection of jewelry at great prices. I also have a couple of their tote bags that I got at a conference and I love them! They are large and very durable, I use them for everything {plus they have Scripture on them}.

I also really like that they offer FREE shipping on orders over $50. You could get a lot of your Christmas shopping done with this one store and get fast and free shipping!

1 – Everything Beautiful Journal | 2 – Ever Grateful Vase | 3 – Well with my soul necklace | 4 – His Loving Kindness Teacup | 5 – Redeemed Purse | 6 – Everyday Joy Mug | 7 – Life Collection Red Plate | 8 – Life Collection Blue Plate

Down East Basics

I own a bunch of cami’s and t-shirt’s from DownEast Basics as well as two adorable jackets, a couple dresses, a few skirts, and a shirt or two.

I actually live close to one of their stores which is nice but I also love browsing their website. Their clothing is cute and most importantly, modest! I’ve featured DownEast Basics in my two modest clothing guides: where {and how} to buy modest clothing and my summer modest fashion guide.

My favorite thing to shop is their clearance section and I am in love with their cami’s. They are very high quality and super modest! A few of my favorite things in their store right now include the Sunday Best Dress, this adorable polka dot skirt, and this vintage white coat.

Flirty Aprons

Last year for Christmas, my husband knew I really wanted a new Apron but wasn’t sure exactly which one I wanted. So he let me pick out my own from Flirty Aprons {actually, I got two}, and during the process we ended up getting Flirty Aprons for all the women in my family because they are just so cute! I think I might be addicted to Aprons but I’ve been eyeing this cupcake apron since last year…I might ask for it for Christmas this year!

Between my sisters and myself, we own the Marilyn Venetian Rose, Strawberry Shortcake, Aqua Damask, Chic Pink, and a few more discontinued ones from years past. These aprons are a perfect give because, while they are cute, they are not something we often spend money on ourselves for. And they are adorable and very high quality. I’ll never buy another apron again. You can see all the styles at Flirty Aprons.

Jane Daily Deals

Jane is another website that I just discovered that has some really cute daily deals! But you have to check back often because their things sell out quickly and they have new deals each day!

Right now they have beautiful hand stamped initial necklaces for only $5.99 and these adorable polka dot bags that would both make great Christmas gifts!

King Author Flour

We all know this popular brand of flour right? But did you know that they have other awesome products such as pure vanilla extract and spices? Their ingredients are always very high quality.

Check out their clearance page to find presents for everyone on your list! I really love their heart shaped waffle maker and the sourdough and crock set.

Gifts for Bakers for the Homemakers in your life
1 – Heart Waffle Maker | 2 – Sourdough and Crock Set | 3 – Pizza Lover’s Gift | 4 – Aprons Recipe Binder

Layla Grace

Layla Grace doesn’t have Christian items like DaySpring, but they do have amazing home decor and kitchen items. I can imagine quite a few homemakers in my life who would love the decor items, baby stuff, and even cell phone covers that Layla Grace caries.

I think their cake stands would make beautiful gifts for any homemaker as well as their serving trays. They also have some really cute Aprons. Some of their items are a little pricey {because they are designer}, but if you search around you can find some great deals – make sure to check out their clearance section too!

Gifts for Homemakers - Layla Grace
1 – Personalized Clip Board | 2 – Drops of Jupiter Aqua Earrings | 3 – Annie Demin Apron | 4 – Cottage Kitchen Rose iPhone Case | 5 – Cream and Polka Dot Scarf | 6 – Cake Stands

Lilla Rose HairClips

Lilla-Rose-LogoI own about seven Lilla Rose Hair Clips and I love them. As a busy Mom of twin babies, I never have time to do my hair, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want my hair to look cute! Lilla Rose hair clips make it easy to do my hair and all the different styles are adorable.

Each month they come out with a new signature hair clip that is available for that month only and I’m tempered to buy the new one each month – they are so cute! December’s hair clip is no exception – the JOY clip is adorable.

NoVae Clothing

I simply drool over the dresses from NoVae Clothing! Once again I love this store because their clothing is adorable and modest! While it’s not in my budget to get these clothes all the time, they are a fun present to give or receive!

My very favorite item from NoVae Clothing is their Polka Dot Dress {I seriously think this is my favorite dress ever}! I am also in love with hats and they have a ton of great ones to choose from like the big bling flower hat and the bling head wrap.

These recipe cards from PrintSmitten on Etsy make the perfect present to bring to a gift swap party or for the ladies in your Bible Study! Give them as a set or fill them out with your favorite recipes to give to other homemakers!

Adorable Recipe Cards!!

Spice Up Your Kitchen

I have seen the cute customized KitchenAid’s before but they always come with a hefty price tag! But with these vinyl decals from The Word Nerd Studio, you can spice up your kitchen aid yourself for only a few dollars.

My favorites are the damask decal, the floral decal, and the Coming Up Roses decal! They also have cute decals for your washing machine and dish washer!

Gifts for Homemakers who want to make their appliances fancy

Sur La Table

419396_10151380783520472_1115105950_nI have to be careful when I get on their website or get their catalog because I end up wanting everything!! Sur La Table has a mix of inexpensive adorable gifts and name brand, high quality items. They have some really unique items in their store. I think I could spend hours looking through their website but a few of my favorite gifts include this cool popcorn gift set, a homemaking cutting board, and this cookie mix for santa!

Wise Decor

One of my favorite new{er} trends is putting up vinyl words in your house. It looks beautiful and if you choose wisely, can help spread the Gospel in your home! Wise Decor has a whole selection of Christian wall art that would make a terrific present for any homemaker!

I especially love their house rules and Fruit of the Spirit decals. What is really neat is that you can customize the colors of many of the decals to match your house.

Books I Highly Recommend

Biblical Womanhood in the Home

Biblical Womanhood in the HomeIf any homemakers you know want to learn more about the Biblical role of women, then I highly suggest Biblical Womanhood in the Home as a perfect gift.

“The feminist revolution was supposed to make us feel better about ourselves, bringing us greater fulfillment and freedom. Yet many of us are feeling anything but fulfilled and free. Across generational lines, inside the church and out, we are understanding that we have lost the beauty and wonder of our distinctive makeup and calling as women. We are realizing that what was supposed to lift us up has been tearing down society, churches, and most importantly, our own families.”

The Christian Homemaker’s Handbook

The Christian Homemaker's HandbookThe Christian Homemaker’s Handbook is my very favorite book on Christian Homemaking that I have ever come across. This massive resource is packed full of over 540 pages of homemaking advice, stories, tips, and inspiration. If it was possible, I would buy this book for every homemaker that I know!

“This one-stop reference tool gives you tips and training on everything from meal planning to interior decorating, biblical womanhood to budgeting, so that you can become a holistic homemaker! It features practical teaching from Scripture, instructions for do-it-yourself projects, application questions, helpful resources, a comprehensive index, and more.”

You can purchase it for Kindle for only $11.49 or in hard copy for $17.15. I rarely spend that much on a hard copy book but this resource is so worth it. It’s jam packed with amazing content {you might want to add this to your Christmas wish list}!

Practicing Hospitality: The Joy of Serving Others

Practicing Hospitality: The Joy of Serving OthersWhile there are several great books out there on Biblical Hospitality, the very best of them all is Practicing Hospitality: The Joy of Serving Others. I stumbled upon this book a few years ago at a conference and have read it through twice now {and gone back to reference different chapters many times} and I’m getting ready to do a third read through of it. This hospitality resource has so much information that each time I read it, I take away something new!

“In Practicing Hospitality two longtime professors (and practitioners!) of home economics provide both the theological base and the practical knowledge to understand and implement God’s plan for hospitality. They provide a blend of theologically sound content, real-life illustrations, and practical application. They focus on developing both the Christian character and practical skills so the act of hospitality is a joy for the host and hostess and a source of encouragement for the guest.”

You can purchase it for the Kindle for only $9.39 or in hard copy for $14.23. I highly recommend you get this book in hard copy, it’s well worth it!!

Say Goodbye to Survival Mode

Say Goodbye to Survival Mode9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion for Life. I have not actually read this book yet by Crystal from Money Saving Mom but everything I’ve read from her in the past has been great and  I know this won’t be an exception!

“You wake up tired. Your to-do list is too long. The commitments—and the laundry—are piling up, but your energy keeps dwindling. You feel like you’re simply making it through the days, not living or enjoying any part of them. In Say Goodbye to Survival Mode, you’ll find both practical ideas and big-picture perspective that will inspire you to live life on purpose.”

You can purchase it on Kindle for only $14.99 or as a hardcopy for $17.18.

True Woman 101: Divine Design

True Women 101: Diving DesignTrue Woman 101 is a an 8 week study on Biblical Womanhood. This study would make an excellent present for someone struggling with or wanting to learn more about Biblical Womanhood and our divine design. You could purchase a copy for you and a copy for your friend and go through the study together!

“What does it mean to be a woman? The current cultural ideal for womanhood encourages women to be strident, sexual, self-centered, independent — and above all — powerful and in control. But sadly, this model of womanhood hasn’t delivered the happiness and fulfillment it promised. The Bible teaches that it’s not up to us to decide what womanhood is all about. God created male and female for a very specific purpose. His design isn’t arbitrary or unimportant. It is very intentional and He wants women to discover, embrace, and delight in the beauty of His design. He’s looking for True Women!”

You can purchase it on the Kindle for only $7.98 or as a hard copy for $16.88.
